Hola, Marie,
Your poem touched me to the core. I can't say I'm a genuine Latino as truly as you are, but I do feel I am. Three hundred years of Spanish rule in my country, the Philippines so named after Felipe II, molded us into who and what we are; yet, unlike most Latinos we hardly flicker with a sign that deep inside we share Latino passions. Perhaps one reason is that we don't speak mp3raid

Spanish though our language is littered with Spanish words. We go to school to learn Spanish and perhaps because subconsciously we know it, we learn it with some ease. I hardly recognized my Latino heritage until I signed up for a iction writing class in New York. First, my classmates noted my Spanish name. Second, and more revealing than my name, they read in my pieces my Latino heritage. I wasn't even conscious I was writing from my soul. Thanks again for your beautiful poem. I read it out aloud and felt my being rise.
